eDreams ODIGEO scales Prime subscription service in South Africa
eDreams ODIGEO (BME: EDR) (OTC: EDDRF) announced it is expanding its Prime subscription service in South Africa after operating in the region for more than a year.
The travel platform company said South African subscribers reported a Net Promoter Score of 62, which the company described as exceptional on the industry standard scale of -100 to +100. The company has been testing its subscription model in the market since establishing operations there.
The Prime service offers subscribers access to member-only deals on flights, hotels, packages and car rentals, along with flexibility features. eDreams ODIGEO said the subscription model has performed well in South Africa, which it identified as the continent's largest domestic travel market.
The South Africa expansion forms part of the company's strategy to reach over 13 million Prime subscribers by 2030, according to a roadmap the company unveiled in November 2025. The company currently has over 7.8 million Prime members.
"We are delighted to accelerate the expansion of Prime in South Africa, the very first footprint of our subscription programme on the African continent," said Dana Dunne, Chief Executive Officer at eDreams ODIGEO. "Having operated Prime in this market for more than a year, we are moving forward not with assumptions, but with the absolute certainty of results that our data has already delivered."
eDreams ODIGEO operates under brands including eDreams, GO Voyages, Opodo, Travellink and metasearch engine Liligo across 44 markets. The company is listed on the Spanish Stock Market and works with nearly 700 airlines.
