Paramount launches publishing imprint for franchise content
Paramount, a unit of Skydance Corporation (NASDAQ: PSKY), announced the launch of Paramount Global Publishing, a new publishing imprint that will develop content based on the company's existing franchises and create original intellectual property.
The imprint will operate under Paramount's Products & Experiences division and will handle direct development, creation and production of books. The company plans to partner with an unnamed distributor for sales and retail market distribution while maintaining its existing licensing partnerships with other publishers.
Amy Jarashow will lead the imprint as Head of Global Publishing, reporting to Josh Silverman, President of Global Products & Experiences at Paramount. "Stories that originate on the page have a unique power to build immersive worlds, create compelling characters and forge deeper connections with fans," Silverman stated in the announcement.
The publishing division will produce content across print, digital and audio formats, targeting audiences from children to adults across multiple genres. Initial operations will begin in the United States and Canada, with expansion to additional markets planned for the future.
Paramount Global Publishing will draw from the company's portfolio of brands including Nickelodeon, Paramount Pictures, CBS, MTV, and Comedy Central, along with franchises such as PAW Patrol, SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Trek and Yellowstone.
The company stated it will announce its distribution partner and initial book titles at a later date. This move represents Paramount's strategy to expand audience engagement with its content properties beyond traditional media formats.
