A fire occurred at a Kimberly-Clark Corporation (NASDAQ: KMB) distribution center in Ontario, California, operated by third-party logistics partner NFI Industries. The company reported no injuries and confirmed all facility employees were safely evacuated.
The building is leased by Kimberly-Clark and operated by NFI Industries. No Kimberly-Clark employees were onsite during the incident, and no manufacturing assets were affected. The company confirmed it has business interruption and property damage insurance policies in place.
Kimberly-Clark activated a response team to manage the situation and minimize impact on customers and consumers. The company stated its supply chain network is designed for continuity during disruptions and has activated coordinated response plans. Teams identified alternative locations for inbound shipments and are securing additional warehousing capacity through local partners.
The company indicated it will provide updates with its quarterly business update scheduled for April 28. Questions regarding the cause of the incident should be directed to the Ontario Police Department. Kimberly-Clark confirmed that an individual apprehended by authorities is not a company employee.
