AppLovin names Craig Billings as chairman, announces leadership changes
AppLovin Corporation (NASDAQ: APP) announced succession plans for key executive roles and appointed Craig Billings as independent chairperson of its board of directors.
The company outlined two management transitions scheduled for 2026. Chief Technology Officer Basil Shikin will move to a distinguished engineer role on July 1, 2026, with Giovanni Ge, currently chief product and engineering officer, becoming the new CTO. Chief Administrative and Legal Officer Victoria Valenzuela will retire on August 1, 2026, and Deputy General Counsel Corina Cacovean will assume the chief legal officer position.
Valenzuela will be nominated for election as a director at the company's 2026 annual meeting of stockholders following her retirement.
Billings, who has served as lead independent director since AppLovin's initial public offering, will take over the chairman role from CEO Adam Foroughi, who will continue as chief executive and board member.
"Craig has been a thoughtful and engaged leader since joining the Board," Foroughi said. "I was pleased to recommend he become the Chairperson, allowing me to fully focus on strategic execution."
Ge joined AppLovin in November 2022 and has held various senior engineering roles before becoming chief product and engineering officer in November 2025. He led development of the company's Axon 2.0 platform and currently oversees engineering and product teams.
Cacovean joined AppLovin in 2020 through its acquisition of Machine Zone and became deputy general counsel for privacy, litigation and regulatory matters in September 2023.
The company also announced that director Alyssa Harvey Dawson will not seek re-election at the 2026 annual meeting.
