IRIDEX partners with EyeProGPO to offer laser devices at reduced prices
Iridex Corporation (NASDAQ: IRIX) announced a partnership with EyeProGPO that will provide preferred pricing on retina laser technology to the group purchasing organization's members.
The partnership gives EyeProGPO's 1,800-plus members access to discounted pricing on Iridex's PASCAL laser platform, IQ 532 and IQ 577 lasers, and the OcuLight TX laser. EyeProGPO serves ophthalmology practices, ambulatory surgery centers, and hospitals across the United States.
EyeProGPO previously had Iridex's Cyclo G6 laser and glaucoma probes under contract. The addition of retina devices expands the existing relationship between the companies.
"We are excited to partner with EyeProGPO to extend broader access to Iridex retina laser technology across its growing network of ophthalmology practices, ASCs, and hospitals," said Patrick Mercer, president and CEO of Iridex. "The on-contract status reinforces the credibility of our technology and enables a more streamlined sales process for our team and customers."
Phil Meyer, chief operating officer of EyeProGPO, said the partnership reflects the organization's commitment to providing members with eye care technology advancements.
Iridex develops laser-based medical systems for treating glaucoma and retinal diseases. The Mountain View, California-based company sells products in the United States through direct sales and internationally through distributors in more than 100 countries.
EyeProGPO uses collective purchasing power to negotiate pricing on ophthalmic supplies, pharmaceuticals, intraocular lenses, and capital equipment for its members.
