GRAIL integrates Galleri test into Epic health record platform

April 7, 2026 4:01 PM

GRAIL Inc. (NASDAQ: GRAL) announced a collaboration with Epic to integrate its Galleri multi-cancer early detection test into Epic's electronic health record platform. The integration will enable approximately 450 health systems to access the test results within their existing patient portals.

The collaboration allows clinicians using Epic's EHR system to order the Galleri test directly at the point of care, receive results, and manage patient follow-up within their existing clinical workflows. Epic is used by many large health systems across the United States.

Implementation planning began in the first quarter of 2026, with broad availability expected by the end of 2026. GRAIL will work with Epic, Amazon Web Services, health systems, community healthcare providers, and retail health clinics to support workflow alignment, training and deployment.

"Today, recommended screening exists for only five cancers in the U.S., yet more than 70% of deaths are caused by cancers without a recommended screening test," said Josh Ofman, President at GRAIL. "With a scalable integration through Epic, we are reducing operational barriers and making it easier for healthcare providers to incorporate the Galleri test into routine care."

The Galleri test uses a blood draw to screen for more than 50 types of cancer before symptoms appear. The test requires a prescription from a licensed healthcare provider and is recommended for adults with elevated cancer risk, such as those aged 50 or older. It should be used in addition to recommended cancer screenings.

Philip Oravetz, Chief Population Health Officer at Ochsner Health, said integrating Galleri directly into Epic enables the health system to incorporate multi-cancer early detection into routine clinical care while reducing administrative burden.

The information is based on a GRAIL press release statement.
