Nutanix and NetApp announce strategic partnership for cloud platform integration
Nutanix (NASDAQ: NTNX) and NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) announced a collaboration to integrate NetApp's enterprise storage systems with the Nutanix Cloud Platform solution and AHV hypervisor, according to a press release statement.
The integration combines NetApp ONTAP data management capabilities with Nutanix's hybrid multicloud operations. The companies plan to launch the solution later this year, targeting organizations seeking to modernize their virtualization and data strategies across on-premises, cloud, and containerized environments.
The partnership includes NFS-based integration designed to streamline virtual machine migration to Nutanix systems. The solution incorporates NetApp's data management tools with features including autonomous ransomware protection and AI-driven threat detection capabilities.
"NetApp and Nutanix are enabling simple, secure and fast modernization of virtualized environments," said Sandeep Singh, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Enterprise Storage at NetApp.
The companies indicated plans to expand the alliance to include AI innovation by integrating NetApp ONTAP into Nutanix's Agentic AI solution. Cisco will participate in the collaboration through its FlexPod ecosystem integration.
NetApp Cloud Platform with NetApp AFF all-flash A-series and select FAS hybrid-flash systems will become available later this year. The solution targets enterprise customers managing virtualized workloads at scale.
Both companies serve enterprise markets, with Nutanix reporting more than 30,000 customers worldwide for its hybrid multicloud computing platform. NetApp positions itself as a provider of data infrastructure services across cloud environments.
