Fluor wins contract to design first new US refinery in 50 years
Fluor Corporation (NYSE: FLR) announced it has been selected by America First Refining to execute the front-end engineering and design for a refining facility in Brownsville, Texas. The project represents the first new refinery to be constructed in the United States in more than 50 years.
The company will recognize the undisclosed contract value in the first quarter of 2026, according to the press release statement.
The America First Refining facility is designed to process more than 60 million barrels per year of domestic crude oil into gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. The refinery will utilize commercially proven technologies to process American shale oil.

Fluor Corporation, headquartered in Irving, Texas, provides engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance services. The company reported revenue of $15.5 billion in 2025 and employs nearly 23,000 people globally.
