Galveston Police Department adopts WRAP Technologies non-lethal devices
Galveston Police Department in Texas has purchased BolaWrap 150 devices and WrapTactics subscriptions from WRAP Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: WRAP), according to a company statement. The acquisition includes in-person training and the company expects additional expansion purchases across various units within the department.
The deployment was supported in part by the Mary Moody Northern Endowment, a Galveston-based charitable foundation that supports projects benefiting institutions in Texas and Virginia. The foundation has historically prioritized needs in the immediate Galveston area.
The police department adopted WrapTactics, WRAP's Learning Management System designed for tactical decision-making, proficiency maintenance, and documentation. The system works alongside in-person training to support operational readiness.
"Our goal is to give our officers more tools and training to respond effectively in situations where time, distance, and control matter most," said Captain Sims of Galveston Police Department. "This initial deployment helps strengthen our non-lethal response capabilities with BolaWrap devices, WrapTactics subscriptions, and in-person training."
Additional expansion purchases are under discussion as the department evaluates extending non-lethal response capabilities to more units. The Mary Moody Northern Endowment may support this broader deployment.
WRAP Technologies describes itself as a global leader in non-lethal response and public safety technology. The BolaWrap device is designed to restrain individuals from a distance using a tether.
