Fortrea launches AI-enhanced technology suite for clinical trials
Fortrea (NASDAQ: FTRE) announced the launch of Fortrea Intelligent Technology, an AI-enhanced suite of solutions designed to automate workflows and streamline clinical trial operations for pharmaceutical sponsors and research sites.
The technology platform builds on the company's existing Xcellerate platform and is organized into three categories: Lifecycle solutions for trial progression, Foresight tools for data analysis and risk mitigation, and Companion applications that use AI to support study teams.
The suite includes applications for biopharma and biotech customers across clinical pharmacology, clinical development and medical device development. The solutions can be deployed in full service and functional service models, with select components available as software-as-a-service.
"Built on decades of industry experience and direct sponsor and investigator site input, FIT delivers human-centered solutions that enable sponsors and sites to conduct trials more efficiently, with greater confidence and lower risk," said Chief Information Officer Alejandro Martinez Galindo.
The Xcellerate platform, which handles Risk-Based Quality Management, Central Monitoring and Oversight functions, serves as the foundation for the new technology suite. Recent enhancements to Xcellerate include embedded AI and machine learning capabilities that can analyze patterns, generate predictive signals and initiate automated workflows.
Chief Operating Officer and President of Clinical Development Mark Morais stated that the platform aims to enable faster responses to data insights and more efficient delivery of treatments to patients.
Fortrea operates across approximately 100 countries and provides clinical trial management, clinical pharmacology and consulting services to life sciences companies. The company plans to expand the Fortrea Intelligent Technology portfolio with additional solutions in future releases.
