Pony AI receives approval for invite-only autonomous rides in Singapore
Pony AI Inc. (NASDAQ: PONY) received regulatory approval to begin by-invite rides in Singapore, marking the final phase before offering public-facing autonomous vehicle services, the company announced April 7.
The service operates on a 12-kilometer route innortheast Punggol, connecting residents to shopping centers including Oasis Terraces, Punggol Plaza, One Punggol and Punggol Coast Mall, as well as providing access to Punggol Coast MRT station and bus interchange. The route takes approximately 55 minutes to complete and is projected to save residents up to 15 minutes compared to existing public transport options.
The autonomous mobility service is operated through a collaboration with ComfortDelGro. During the by-invite phase, selected participants from the local community will experience the service before broader deployment.
"Singapore is an important step in Pony.ai's global commercialization strategy," said Dr. James Peng, founder and CEO of Pony.ai. "Entering by-invite rides with ComfortDelGro moves this project into a more operational phase and brings our autonomous mobility technology closer to real daily commuting scenarios."
Pony.ai first announced its Singapore deployment in September 2025. The program builds on a strategic partnership with ComfortDelGro that began with a memorandum of understanding in July 2024, followed by an autonomous mobility pilot in Guangzhou in March 2025.
The company will work with Singapore's Land Transport Authority and local stakeholders during this phase to gather rider feedback and refine service operations ahead of public-facing service launch.
