Vizsla Silver confirms nine employees found dead in Concordia incident
Vizsla Silver Corp. (NYSE: VZLA) confirmed that nine employees have been found deceased in an incident in Concordia, Sinaloa. The company stated that one colleague remains missing and that it continues to support authorities in their ongoing investigation.
"This is a devastating outcome, and our heartfelt condolences are with all the families impacted," said Michael Konnert, President and CEO of Vizsla Silver, according to a company statement.
The mining company indicated it remains in close contact with the family of the missing colleague. Vizsla Silver operates the Panuco Project in the region and has suspended site activities while the investigation continues.
The company stated it will provide an operational update at a later time. Site operations remain suspended while engineering, planning and other project work continues remotely.
Vizsla Silver has not disclosed the specific circumstances surrounding the incident or provided details about when site activities might resume. The company indicated that any resumption of operations would depend on security conditions and regulatory approval.
