Murphy USA names Donald Smith as chief financial officer

Murphy USA Inc. (NYSE: MUSA) appointed Donald R. Smith Jr. as senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer, effective April 3, 2026, according to a company statement.

Smith, 54, had been serving as interim chief financial officer and vice president, chief accounting officer and treasurer. The board of directors made the appointment official on April 3.

Smith joined Murphy USA in 2013 during the company's spin-off from Murphy Oil Corporation, initially as vice president and controller. He was designated chief accounting officer for reporting purposes and later named treasurer in 2024. The company promoted him to interim chief financial officer in October 2025.

Before joining Murphy USA, Smith worked at KPMG LLP for more than 14 years in progressive roles, departing as a senior manager in the audit and assurance practice.
