Deckorators acquires MoistureShield assets to expand manufacturing

April 6, 2026 2:00 PM

Deckorators, a division of UFP Industries (NASDAQ: UFPI), announced it has acquired the remaining operating assets for MoistureShield decking from Oldcastle APG. The transaction was announced April 6.

The acquisition includes manufacturing assets, certain product brands and proprietary CoolDeck composite decking technology at an Arkansas facility. The CoolDeck technology is designed to reduce heat absorption compared to standard composite decking.

"The addition of MoistureShield strengthens our ability to innovate and serve our customers," said Ryan Kemp, Executive Vice President of Deckorators. "By combining our technologies, product development capabilities, and market reach, we will accelerate growth and continue delivering high-performance outdoor solutions."

Landon Tarvin, President of UFP Retail Solutions, said the company expects to double Deckorators' overall wood plastic composite capacity to $200 million by 2027 through this investment and additional capital investments at the acquired location.

The Arkansas facility brings expertise in traditional composite decking to complement Deckorators' Surestone technology. Deckorators manufactures decking, railing and accessories and is part of UFP Retail Solutions, a UFP Industries subsidiary.

UFP Industries, formerly Universal Forest Products, is headquartered in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The company's operating subsidiaries manufacture, distribute and sell wood and alternative material building products worldwide through operations in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
