Trigon Metals delays name change to Safi Silver due to regulatory backlog
Trigon Metals Inc. (TSX-V: TM, OTCPK: PNTZF) announced that its planned name change to Safi Silver Corp. has been delayed due to processing backlogs at Corporations Canada.
The company had intended to complete a short-form vertical amalgamation with its wholly-owned subsidiary Safi Silver Corp. and change its name on April 1, 2026. The company filed its application well in advance of this date.
Corporations Canada confirmed the amalgamation and name change will be effective April 1, 2026 once applications are processed. The company's shares will not begin trading under the Safi Silver Corp. name and SF ticker symbol until both Corporations Canada and the TSX Venture Exchange approve the applications.
Trigon stated it will provide an update once a revised trading date is established. The company is a Canadian exploration and development company focused on copper and silver projects in Morocco and Namibia.
In Morocco, Trigon operates the Addana project, which contains silver-bearing polymetallic veins, and the Silver Hill sedimentary copper prospect. The company also holds the Kalahari Copperbelt Project in Namibia.
