April 2, 2026 4:32 PM

MetLife Investment Management announced Andrea Drasites will join as global head of Real Estate and Agricultural Finance, effective Oct. 1, 2026. She will report to Brian Funk, president of MIM.

Drasites will oversee the company's commercial mortgage and equity real estate portfolio, along with its agricultural investments portfolio. MIM's real estate portfolio represented $108.9 billion in gross real estate and agricultural assets under management as of December 31, 2025.

Drasites joins from Blackstone, where she spent 13 years in various leadership positions. Most recently, she served as senior managing director in the Real Estate Group. Prior to Blackstone, she held senior roles at Equity One, Inc. and Woolbright Development.

"We are excited to bring on board Andrea's significant expertise in real estate and extensive leadership experience," said Funk. "She is well positioned to lead our real estate team as we continue to accelerate growth and further scale our global capabilities for clients following the acquisition of PineBridge Investments."

She replaces Robert Merck, who retired in 2025 after a 40-year career.

Drasites earned her Bachelor of Arts in international business from Rollins College and an M.B.A. with honors from the University of Florida.

In December 2025, MIM acquired PineBridge Investments, combining institutional capabilities with specialized investment expertise. The combined firm manages $741.7 billion in total assets under management and provides investment solutions across public fixed income, private fixed income, real estate, equity, alternatives, multi-asset and insurance solutions.

MetLife Investment Management is the institutional asset management business of MetLife, Inc. (NYSE: MET).
