Regeneron invests up to $200 million in TriNetX health data partnership

April 2, 2026 4:31 PM

Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ: REGN) announced a strategic collaboration with TriNetX that includes an investment of up to $200 million in the health data company. The partnership provides Regeneron exclusive access to TriNetX's network of de-identified electronic health records from approximately 300 million patients, including 170 million in the United States.

Under the agreement, TriNetX will provide Regeneron secure, licensed access to current and future de-identified health data sourced from its global network of health system partners. Regeneron will use privacy-preserving methods to match portions of this data to genomic and proteomic information generated by the Regeneron Genetics Center.

The collaboration aims to expand Regeneron's existing database of electronic health record-linked sequencing and proteomics data. The Regeneron Genetics Center has developed what it describes as the world's largest database of EHR-linked sequencing and proteomics data through partnerships with over 150 life sciences and healthcare collaborators.

"This is a major milestone for the RGC and a powerful new pathway to achieve our core mission: building the world's largest and richest human health database to drive drug development and pioneer digital health solutions for consumers, patients and providers," said Aris Baras, senior vice president and head of the Regeneron Genetics Center.

TriNetX operates a federated network of over 11,000 healthcare provider locations globally. The company provides access to real-world health data for research purposes.

The data matching will be conducted in accordance with applicable data privacy laws, including HIPAA and GDPR, according to the press release statement. Regeneron plans to use the expanded dataset for drug discovery and development as well as artificial intelligence training algorithms for digital health applications.
