Nu Skin launches AI-powered device for nutritional wellness tracking

April 2, 2026 4:25 PM

Nu Skin Enterprises Inc. (NYSE: NUS) announced the U.S. availability of Prysm iO, a device that measures skin carotenoid levels to provide insights into antioxidant status. The compact device scans a user's fingertip in 15 seconds and delivers a personalized nutrition health score.

The device uses what Nu Skin calls Spectral Rai Technology, capturing over 700,000 hyperspectral absorption measurements during each scan. An AI algorithm processes this data to generate a personalized score indicating antioxidant levels without requiring blood tests or laboratory visits.

Nu Skin says the technology is based on more than 20 years of carotenoid research and is supported by a database of over 20 million antioxidant scans. The device measures carotenoids, which are antioxidants found in fruits and vegetables that support various aspects of health.

A clinical study led by dermatologist Dr. Zoe Draelos and published in Food and Nutrition Journal evaluated 97 participants across diverse demographics and skin types. The study found that Prysm iO measurements showed correlation with blood serum levels, with correlation coefficients of R² = 0.75-0.77.

"Prysm iO represents a new frontier for personalized wellness and another critical milestone in our vision to become the world's leading intelligent beauty and wellness company," said Ryan Napierski, Nu Skin's president and CEO.

The device is priced at $375 and integrates with Nu Skin's supplement line, including products such as LifePak, Beauty Focus Collagen+, and ageLOC Youth. Nu Skin plans to launch the device in other markets in coming months.

The Provo, Utah-based company operates in nearly 50 markets worldwide and offers personal care, nutrition, and anti-aging products through an affiliate sales model.
