Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) appointed Aparna Bawa as executive vice president and chief legal and people officer, the company announced. Bawa will report directly to CEO Lip-Bu Tan and oversee Intel's global legal, ethics, compliance, people, and culture organizations.

Bawa joins Intel from Zoom, where she served as chief operating officer, managing operational, legal, and people functions during the company's growth period. Prior to Zoom, she held senior legal and leadership positions in the technology industry with experience in corporate governance, global compliance, employment, mergers and acquisitions, and organizational transformation.

"Aparna brings a rare combination of operational rigor, business judgment, and people-first leadership," said Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan. "Her experience helping scale global technology companies through periods of significant change will be invaluable as we build a stronger, more agile Intel."

In her new role, Bawa will focus on strengthening Intel's legal and compliance foundation, advancing company culture, and ensuring the people strategy supports business priorities. She will also shape Intel's leadership culture, talent strategy, and governance.

"Intel is an iconic American company at a pivotal moment," said Bawa. "I'm honored to join Lip-Bu and the leadership team, and excited to help build the culture, systems, and trust that enable teams to do their best work and deliver for customers, partners, and shareholders."

Bawa will join Intel in May, according to the company's announcement.
