LandBridge signs data center lease agreement for 2 GW campus in Texas
LandBridge Company LLC (NYSE: LB) entered into a lease development agreement with PowerBridge LLC for a data center campus in West Texas. The agreement provides PowerBridge with an option to lease approximately 3,400 acres in Reeves County, Texas for development of the Alpha Digital Campus, which would feature up to 2 gigawatts of initial co-located power generation.
The lease development agreement grants PowerBridge rights to advance site development activities and pursue entitlements for the campus. PowerBridge can lease the property on a long-term basis for development of digital infrastructure and power solutions to serve data center customers.
PowerBridge is a portfolio company of Five Point Infrastructure led by CEO Alex Hernandez, who previously founded Cumulus Data and served as CEO of Talen Energy Corp (NASDAQ: TLN). The company has filed its Generation Interconnection Request for power generation facilities and submitted associated data center load details. PowerBridge has ordered long-lead-time equipment for power infrastructure.
The first power delivery date for the Alpha Digital Campus is anticipated in 2027, with large scale power generation following in 2028, subject to regulatory processes and commercial discussions.
LandBridge owns or manages more than 320,000 surface acres across Texas and New Mexico, primarily in the Delaware sub-region of the Permian Basin. The company actively manages its land to support energy and infrastructure development, including digital infrastructure.
The information is based on a press release statement from LandBridge.
