Red Cat secures drone order from NATO ally through competitive tender

April 2, 2026 7:59 AM

Red Cat Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: RCAT) announced that a NATO ally selected its Black Widow small unmanned aircraft systems through a competitive tender in March 2026. The contract was facilitated through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency.

The company will deliver an undisclosed number of systems during 2026. Each system includes two Black Widow aircraft, a ground control station, and other mission-critical components.

The Black Widow is Red Cat's small unmanned aircraft system designed for tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions. The platform is manufactured in the United States and compliant with the National Defense Authorization Act.

"This contract reflects a broader shift toward systems that can move quickly from procurement to deployment," said Jeff Thompson, CEO of Red Cat. "NATO allies need platforms that are deployable today for use in contested environments, built on secure U.S. supply chains, and able to be manufactured and fielded at scale."

Red Cat, based in Salt Lake City, provides drone and robotic solutions for defense and national security through its subsidiaries Teal Drones and FlightWave Aerospace. The company is expanding into maritime operations through Blue Ops Inc., developing uncrewed surface vessels.

The information is based on a company press release statement.
