Gevo names Kyle James as chief commercial officer and Dave Kettner as general counsel

Gevo Inc. (NASDAQ: GEVO) appointed Kyle James as Chief Commercial Officer and Dave Kettner as General Counsel, according to a company statement. The appointments complete Chief Executive Officer Paul Bloom's executive team following his recent appointment.

James brings more than 25 years of commercial leadership experience in renewable fuels and chemicals. He previously held senior roles at ADM, including Vice President of Fuel Ethanol Sales and General Manager of Renewable Performance Chemicals. James has worked with Gevo over recent months and contributed to the company's commercial initiatives. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business from Iowa State University and a Master of Business Administration from Illinois State University.

Kettner has more than two decades of legal and executive leadership experience in renewable fuels, chemicals, and technology businesses. He previously served as President and General Counsel of Virent Inc., where he oversaw legal affairs, corporate strategy, governance, compliance, and government affairs. During his time at Virent, the company advanced from research and development into commercialization and achieved technical milestones including sustainable aviation fuel production through partnerships with global companies.

Before Virent, Kettner held senior legal roles at the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, managing legal strategy for intellectual property protection, licensing, and commercialization of university technologies. He previously practiced intellectual property law at Quarles & Brady LLP.

Kettner earned a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School and a B.S. in Genetics and Cell Biology from the University of Minnesota. He is admitted to practice before multiple federal courts and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

The company develops renewable fuels, chemicals, and carbon management solutions. Gevo operates an ethanol plant with carbon capture and sequestration facilities and a dairy-based renewable natural gas facility.
