Eco Wave Power completes wave energy pilot with Shell at Port of Los Angeles

April 1, 2026 8:33 AM

Eco Wave Power Global AB (NASDAQ: WAVE) announced the completion of its wave energy pilot program at the Port of Los Angeles, conducted in collaboration with Shell International Exploration and Production Inc.

The company submitted its final project completion report to Shell, confirming all milestones under the 2024 Pilot Test Agreement were achieved. The pilot operated under real marine conditions with total capital expenditures below $1 million.

The project deployed wave energy systems on existing coastal infrastructure without requiring seabed anchoring or offshore construction. The installation received full permits and demonstrated no significant environmental impact during operations.

The collaboration between the companies began with a feasibility study that identified 77 potential U.S. coastal sites suitable for wave energy deployment. The pilot represents the transition from feasibility analysis to real-world implementation.

"Successfully completing this project with Shell is a strong validation of our technology, execution capabilities, and commercial potential," said Inna Braverman, founder and CEO of Eco Wave Power.

The Port of Los Angeles installation will continue operating as a demonstration and educational facility for policymakers, industry stakeholders, and potential partners. The company positions the completed pilot as a reference project for future commercial deployments.

Eco Wave Power's technology was featured in a digital twin demonstration during NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang's keynote presentation at the NVIDIA GTC conference. The company operates Israel's first grid-connected wave energy power station and has projects planned in Portugal, Taiwan, and India, representing a project pipeline of 404.7 MW.
