IBM (NYSE: IBM) announced that 11 of its artificial intelligence and automation software solutions have received Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program authorization. The authorized solutions include several products from the watsonx portfolio.

The authorizations were enabled through IBM's strategic collaboration agreement with Amazon Web Services. The solutions are deployed exclusively on AWS GovCloud, providing federal agencies with secure access while meeting government compliance requirements.

According to IBM, the authorization of 11 solutions within one year represents a four-fold increase in the company's FedRAMP portfolio. Vanessa Hunt, General Manager of Technology for IBM's U.S. Federal Market, stated the achievement reflects IBM's commitment to meeting federal agency technology needs.

The authorized solutions span AI and automation categories. AI solutions include watsonx.ai for foundation models, watsonx.governance for AI lifecycle management, watsonx.data for data lakehouse capabilities, watsonx.data integration for data transformation, watsonx.data intelligence for data analysis, and watsonx Orchestrate for workflow automation.

Automation solutions include Verify for identity and access management, Turbonomic for application resource optimization, Instana for real-time visibility, Concert for AI-driven insights, and Maximo Application Suite for asset lifecycle management.

Amy Belcher, Director of Worldwide Public Sector ISV Sales at AWS, described the collaboration as delivering secure AI solutions for federal agencies while maintaining required security and compliance standards.

The solutions are part of IBM's AI and Automation Services for Government portfolio. IBM stated it has partnered with the U.S. federal government for more than a century, supporting various technological transformations from computerized census systems to space exploration.
