Anterix signs 900 MHz spectrum deal with Texas-New Mexico Power
Anterix Inc. (NASDAQ: ATEX) announced a 900 MHz spectrum sale agreement with Texas-New Mexico Power, a subsidiary of TXNM Energy that serves over 280,000 homes and businesses.
The agreement enables TNMP to deploy a private wireless network aimed at strengthening grid reliability and supporting service improvements across its territory. The deployment is part of TNMP's 2025-2027 System Resiliency Plan.
TNMP joins other Texas utilities including LCRA, Oncor, Xcel Energy, and CPS Energy in adopting Anterix's 900 MHz platform. According to the press release, nine utilities now use Anterix's platform across 15 states.
"Our customers depend on us for reliable power every day, and that responsibility is the driving force behind our 2025-2027 System Resiliency Plan," said TNMP President Neal Walker. "By deploying Anterix's private wireless network, we are gaining the secure, utility-controlled communications needed to achieve faster outage response and real-time monitoring of our most critical infrastructure."
Anterix President and CEO Scott Lang said the agreement reflects market momentum toward solutions that are currently available and scalable. The company describes its platform as providing utilities with mission-critical private wireless broadband spectrum.
The agreement is subject to several conditions, including Anterix's ability to clear interference with incumbent users of the 900 MHz spectrum in TNMP's service area and securing broadband licenses from the Federal Communications Commission.
