YUM Brands appoints former Marriott CFO Kathleen Oberg to board

Yum! Brands (NYSE: YUM) announced the appointment of Kathleen K. Oberg to its Board of Directors, effective April 1, 2026. Oberg previously served as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of Development at Marriott International.



Oberg held the CFO position at Marriott from 2016 to 2026 and served as Executive Vice President of Development from 2023 to 2026. She spent nearly three decades at Marriott in various financial leadership roles, including CFO of The Ritz-Carlton from 2013 to 2015.



Before joining Marriott in 1999, Oberg held financial positions at Sodexo, Sallie Mae, Goldman Sachs and Chase Manhattan Bank. She currently serves on the board of Adobe and previously served on the American Hotel and Lodging Association's IREFAC Council.



Brian Cornell, non-executive chairman of Yum! Brands' board, said in a statement that Oberg "is a highly accomplished leader with deep global experience and a strong track record of driving disciplined growth."



Chris Turner, Yum! Brands CEO, stated that Oberg's "impressive background includes driving growth, financial discipline and operational performance."



Oberg earned a bachelor's degree in commerce from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce and an MBA from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business.



Yum! Brands operates more than 63,000 restaurants across over 155 countries under brands including KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and Habit Burger & Grill.
