Ameresco names two co-presidents and new COO in leadership restructure
Ameresco Inc. (NYSE: AMRC) announced organizational changes that will take effect April 1, 2026, according to a company statement.
Nicole Bulgarino and Lou Maltezos will serve as co-presidents alongside Chief Executive Officer George Sakellaris, who will retain his role as CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors. Bulgarino will lead data center work and large energy infrastructure projects while continuing to oversee the Federal Solutions business. Maltezos will manage the unified non-federal project organization and continue leading Smart Building Solutions and Ameresco Canada.
Peter Christakis will become Chief Operating Officer, focusing on project execution and risk management. He will continue overseeing procurement, health and safety, U.S. solar and battery operations, and European operations.
"These appointments represent an exciting step forward as we elevate proven leaders and position Ameresco for the future," Sakellaris said in the statement.
The Framingham, Massachusetts-based company provides energy infrastructure solutions including energy efficiency upgrades and distributed energy resources. Ameresco has more than 1,500 employees across North America and Europe, serving government entities, utilities, data centers, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and commercial customers.
