Excelerate Energy Inc. (NYSE: EE) held a naming ceremony for its newest floating storage and regasification unit, Excelerate Acadia, at the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea.

The vessel represents the first Excelerate FSRU constructed at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, according to a company statement. Deborah Byers, a member of Excelerate Energy's board of directors, served as the vessel's godmother and performed the ceremonial naming and champagne bottle breaking.

The Excelerate Acadia is designed to support long-term LNG import and regasification operations. The vessel incorporates efficiency and safety features with redundant systems, according to the company.

Excelerate Energy operates floating regasification terminals and provides LNG supply and power generation services. The Woodlands, Texas-based company has operations in multiple countries including locations in Abu Dhabi, London, Singapore, and other international markets.

The naming ceremony included company leadership, shipyard representatives, and invited guests to mark the vessel's formal christening at the South Korean facility.
