OpenAI completed a $122 billion funding round at a post-money valuation of $852 billion, according to a company statement. The artificial intelligence company said it is generating $2 billion in revenue per month.

The funding round was anchored by Amazon, NVIDIA, and SoftBank, with continued participation from Microsoft. SoftBank co-led the round alongside Andreessen Horowitz, D.E. Shaw Ventures, MGX, TPG, and accounts advised by T. Rowe Price Associates.

Additional investors included Altimeter, Appaloosa LP, ARK Invest, affiliated funds of BlackRock, Blackstone, Coatue, D1 Capital Partners, Dragoneer, Fidelity Management & Research Company, and others. The company said it raised over $3 billion from individual investors through bank channels.

OpenAI reported ChatGPT has more than 900 million weekly active users and over 50 million subscribers. The company said it reached $1 billion in revenue within a year of launching ChatGPT and was generating $1 billion per quarter by the end of 2024.

Enterprise business now represents more than 40% of revenue and is projected to reach parity with consumer revenue by the end of 2026, according to the statement. The company's APIs process more than 15 billion tokens per minute.

OpenAI expanded its existing revolving credit facility to approximately $4.7 billion, supported by a syndicate including JPMorgan Chase, Citi, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo, and others. The facility remains undrawn.

The company announced plans to develop what it calls a "unified AI superapp" that would integrate ChatGPT, its coding tool Codex, browsing capabilities, and other features. OpenAI said it recently launched GPT-5.4, which it described as its most capable model.
