Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) announced a collaboration with onX that provides eligible Ford owners with complimentary one-year access to the outdoor navigation company's suite of mapping applications.

Ford owners in the U.S. with 2017 model year and newer vehicles equipped with an active modem who are new onX customers can receive free memberships to onX Offroad, onX Hunt, onX Backcountry Elite, and onX Fish Midwest. The offer runs through December 22, 2028.

The onX Offroad app provides access to more than 650,000 miles of routes with difficulty ratings and descriptions. onX Hunt offers land boundary navigation and scouting tools for hunters. onX Backcountry includes over one million miles of hiking and biking trails, while onX Fish provides fishing location data currently available in Midwest states.

The apps integrate with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, allowing users to display maps on their vehicle screens. Users can download offline maps for areas without cellular service.

"Our team at Ford is beginning a journey toward radical vehicle personalization using software, and this is an example of how you can make your experience true to what you're passionate about or want to learn," said Mike Aragon, President of Integrated Services at Ford.

Ford and onX are also launching a content series called "Chasing Off-Road Confidence," featuring Ford customers using the navigation apps on various outdoor adventures.

The partnership requires credit card activation for the memberships, which will automatically renew unless cancelled. Customers who held onX memberships in the previous 12 months are not eligible for the complimentary offer on the same apps.
