Onconetix Inc. (NASDAQ: ONCO) appointed David White as chief executive officer effective March 18 and Sammy Dorf as a board member effective March 19, according to a company statement.

White brings over 30 years of executive experience, having served as CEO at American Student Transportation Partners and TransCare Inc. He currently serves as an independent director of Art's Way Manufacturing Inc., a Nasdaq-listed equipment manufacturer. White holds degrees from the University of Western Ontario and University of Toronto and is a Chartered Professional Accountant.

Dorf co-founded Verano Holdings Corp., an OTCQX-listed company, in 2015 and helped guide its public listing in 2021. He founded Dreamlife Consulting in 2023 and became a partner at Blue Current LLC. Dorf currently serves on the board of SRx Health Solutions, a NYSE American-listed company, and Cube Exchange, a digital asset platform.

Karina Fedasz, the outgoing interim CEO, will continue as interim chief financial officer. The leadership changes come as Onconetix works toward completing its previously announced acquisition of Realbotix LLC, a developer of AI-powered humanoid robots.

"The pending acquisition of Realbotix represents an opportunity to build a differentiated, technology-forward business at the intersection of AI and humanoid robotics," White said in the statement.

Onconetix is a commercial-stage biotechnology company that owns Proclarix, an in vitro diagnostic test for prostate cancer approved for sale in the European Union. The company has a license agreement with Labcorp to market the test in the U.S. as a lab developed test.
