Oracle launches AI data platform for federal agencies
Oracle (NYSE: ORCL) announced the availability of its AI Data Platform for U.S. federal agencies on March 31. The platform integrates Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Autonomous AI Database, and OCI Enterprise AI to help civilian and defense agencies unify data and deploy AI applications.
The platform enables federal agencies to connect generative AI models with agency data, applications, and workflows. It includes automated data ingestion capabilities and built-in generative AI tools designed to transform fragmented data into what Oracle describes as mission-ready intelligence.
"Federal agencies are under increasing pressure to turn data into a secure, decisive mission advantage at speed and scale," said Kim Lynch, executive vice president of Government, Defense & Intelligence at Oracle.
Key components include Oracle Autonomous AI Database for data management, Oracle Analytics for trend analysis, OCI Enterprise AI for access to large language models, and OCI Object Storage for scalable data storage. The platform supports Python, Spark, and open-source AI frameworks.
The platform operates within OCI's FedRAMP High-authorized Government Cloud with IL4 and IL5 support for controlled unclassified information. It includes encryption, access controls, and audit logging aligned with NIST and FISMA frameworks.
For agencies requiring data sovereignty, Oracle offers dedicated cloud regions, including Oracle National Security Regions for air-gapped environments, and Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer for infrastructure deployed within agency facilities.
The announcement was made at Oracle Federal Forum in Washington. Information is based on Oracle's press release statement.
