Alaska Airlines launches business class suites for Europe, Asia routes

March 31, 2026 8:03 AM

Alaska Airlines (NYSE: ALK) announced the launch of its International Business Class service on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners as the carrier expands to Europe and Asia routes this spring.

The new business class features fully lie-flat suites with privacy doors, direct aisle access, and 18-inch HD entertainment screens. Passengers will receive multi-course meals developed with Seattle chef Brady Ishiwata Williams, premium bedding created with Filson, and access to Alaska's lounge network and oneworld partner lounges.

"We set out to design a Business Class experience that is both sophisticated and authentically Alaska: premium, comfortable and thoughtfully created for our guests," said Andrew Harrison, chief commercial officer at Alaska Airlines.

The service launches with nonstop flights from Seattle to Rome starting April 28, followed by London on May 21 and Reykjavik on May 28. Routes to Seoul begin in April and Tokyo this fall. The Reykjavik route will operate on a 737 MAX 8 with a modified premium experience.

Alaska's announcement coincides with the carrier marking five years as a oneworld alliance member. The partnership connects passengers to more than 900 worldwide destinations on a single ticket, according to the company.

The airline plans to install Starlink Wi-Fi on its 787-9 fleet this fall. Starting in May, passengers will need to sign in with their Atmos Rewards number to access the service, which remains free through Alaska's partnership with T-Mobile.

Alaska Air Group operates Alaska Airlines, Hawaiian Airlines, and Horizon Air, serving more than 140 destinations across North America, Latin America, Asia and the Pacific.
