Aehr Test Systems wins silicon photonics customer order

March 31, 2026 7:31 AM

Aehr Test Systems (NASDAQ: AEHR) received an order from a networking products company for wafer-level burn-in systems to test silicon photonics transceivers used in data center applications.

The order includes multiple FOX-XP wafer-level burn-in systems configured to test nine wafers in parallel, a WaferPak Auto Aligner, multiple FOX-NP systems, and full-wafer contactors for production and engineering use. The systems are scheduled to ship in Aehr's fiscal fourth quarter ending May 29, 2026.

The customer, described as a global leader in networking products and major supplier to the data center optical transceiver market, is developing silicon photonics-based transceivers for data center networking applications. The company has provided Aehr with a forecast for additional systems, with potential follow-on orders possible later this calendar year.

"Data center architectures are rapidly evolving as AI infrastructure scales, driving a major transition from traditional copper interconnects to fiber optic communication links," said Gayn Erickson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Aehr Test Systems.

The customer purchased systems for both engineering qualification and high-volume production. Aehr's FOX-XP platform provides wafer-level burn-in testing that can deliver up to 3,500 watts per wafer, according to the company.

Aehr Test Systems, headquartered in Fremont, California, provides test solutions for semiconductor devices in wafer level, singulated die, and packaged part form. The company has installed thousands of systems worldwide across applications including electric vehicles, data center infrastructure, and artificial intelligence processors.

The information is based on a company press release statement.
