Alarm.com adds AI search and new cameras to security platform
Alarm.com Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: ALRM) announced updates to its video security platform, introducing AI-driven search capabilities and two new camera models for residential and commercial customers.
The company launched AI Video Event Search, which allows customers to locate video footage using natural language queries instead of manually reviewing hours of recordings. Users can search for specific items or events by typing phrases such as "red pickup truck last week" or "grocery bag at front door Friday." The feature searches saved clip thumbnails from Alarm.com-integrated cameras and allows results to be filtered by date range or camera location.
AI Video Event Search is available to U.S. customers on Premium Video and Commercial Video Plus service packages, though it is not available in Illinois and certain other jurisdictions.
The company also introduced the ADC-V731B Battery Spotlight Camera, designed for locations without wired power access. The battery-powered camera captures 4MP video with a 140-degree horizontal field of view and includes color night vision through an integrated spotlight. The device supports optional solar panel operation and is designed for both indoor and outdoor use.
The ADC-VDB775 Video Doorbell represents the company's new front-door security offering. The device includes Familiar Face recognition technology that allows customers to identify known visitors and distinguish them from unfamiliar arrivals. The doorbell can detect people, packages, vehicles, and animals, and includes onboard microSD recording for continuous video capture.
"Our latest video updates are shaped by how customers and partners use the platform every day," said Dan Kerzner, President of Platforms Business at Alarm.com. "They're designed to help users get answers faster, extend coverage, and stay in control of their video."
The information is based on a company press release.
