Nebius to build 310 MW AI factory in Finland by 2027

March 31, 2026 3:33 AM

Nebius Group (NASDAQ: NBIS) announced plans to construct an AI factory in Lappeenranta, Finland, with capacity of up to 310 MW. The first capacity from the facility is expected to be available to customers in 2027.

The announcement follows Nebius's expansion of its first Finnish data center in Mäntsälä to 75 MW, completed earlier this year. The company stated it plans further expansion in Finland as part of its global capacity build-out.

"We have been building in Finland for many years and are pleased to be expanding our presence here," said Arkady Volozh, founder and CEO of Nebius. "Lappeenranta represents a significant addition to our global AI infrastructure build-out."

Nebius is targeting more than 3 GW of contracted power by the end of 2026. The company recently secured approval for a gigawatt-scale AI factory in Independence, Missouri. In the EMEA region, Nebius has secured more than 750 MW of contracted power across its sites and colocations, including an AI factory near Lille, France, with 240 MW capacity when fully deployed.

The Lappeenranta facility will be built on a 100-acre industrial site and is expected to create up to 700 construction jobs during the building phase, with around 100 permanent positions once operational. The project will use a closed-loop liquid cooling system and include heat recovery capabilities for the local district heating network.

The facilities will house NVIDIA accelerated compute systems, including the GB300 NVL72 platform currently operational at the Mäntsälä facility and the planned Vera Rubin NVL72 platform starting later this year.
