March 30, 2026 5:15 PM

American Express (NYSE: AXP) announced a multi-year global partnership with the National Football League, naming the company the NFL's official payments partner beginning with the 2026 season.

The partnership will provide American Express card members access to ticket presales, on-site experiences and perks at select NFL events worldwide, including international games, the NFL Draft and Super Bowl. Card members will have access to on-site activations and special offers at various NFL events throughout the year.

"Partnering with American Express brings even more momentum to the NFL's efforts to deliver world‑class experiences to fans around the globe," said Renie Anderson, executive vice president and chief revenue officer of the NFL.

American Express will support the NFL's global expansion efforts, offering presale tickets for all league-owned international games and localized activations in select countries. Card members can purchase presale tickets for the 2026 NFL Melbourne Game between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers scheduled for September 10.

The company will establish fan experiences at the NFL Draft in Pittsburgh, including a card member lounge and priority lanes for select NFL-operated experiences. American Express already maintains partnerships with the Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants, New York Jets and Miami Dolphins, providing card members with presale tickets and stadium perks.

American Express and the NFL plan to introduce the NFL Extra Points American Express Credit Card later this year, issued by Comenity Capital Bank. The card will offer enhanced rewards and access to NFL experiences for U.S. customers.

According to American Express research, nearly 80% of surveyed U.S. consumer card members identify as sports fans. The NFL partnership joins American Express' sports portfolio spanning more than 50 premier sports leagues, teams, venues and events globally.
