Stratasys Ltd. (NASDAQ: SSYS) announced that its Stratasys Direct division has been selected for the U.S. Department of War's Joint Additive Manufacturing Acceptability IV Pilot Parts Program, a multimillion-dollar initiative focused on qualifying and deploying 3D-printed parts across military platforms.

The program represents part of growing defense spending on additive manufacturing, with funding rising 83% to $3.3 billion in fiscal year 2026 compared to the previous year, according to the company's statement. Stratasys Direct currently ships over 100,000 parts annually to the defense industry.

The U.S. Air Force currently uses Stratasys technology in its C-17 fleet to produce microvanes that the company states help save an estimated $14 million in annual fuel costs. The technology also produces replacement components that reduce lead times for military operations.

"In 2025, Stratasys saw double-digit annual revenue growth from aerospace and defense, demonstrating that additive manufacturing is becoming a key capability for defense sustainment and supply chain resilience," said Foster Ferguson, Vice President of Industrial Business Unit at Stratasys.

Stratasys Direct operates three manufacturing facilities in North America and offers seven industrial 3D printing technologies. The division operates under quality certifications including AS9100 and ISO 9001, with CMMC compliance and ITAR requirements support for defense contracts.

The company stated it has deployed thousands of systems across aerospace and defense production environments worldwide. As a Program of Record for the U.S. Air Force and Naval Air Systems Command, Stratasys provides production-scale parts for operational use across active military platforms.
