GXO wins NHS England contract for bowel cancer test kit distribution

March 30, 2026 5:00 AM

GXO Logistics Inc. (NYSE: GXO) announced it has been appointed by NHS England as the managed service provider for distributing Faecal Immunochemical Test home testing kits for the bowel cancer screening programme across England.

The logistics company will manage the supply and distribution of FIT kits in partnership with MAST, described as the world's largest distributor of FITs, and RDi, a UK diagnostic kitting company. The testing kits are used to identify individuals at risk of cancer who require further screening.

"GXO's solutions are purpose-built for the complex and highly regulated needs of healthcare supply chains, and we are proud to be selected by NHS England to deliver this important national programme," said Gavin Williams, Managing Director for GXO UK & Ireland.

The agreement represents GXO's continued expansion in healthcare logistics. In 2025, the company was selected by NHS Supply Chain as its logistics partner and has signed agreements with Siemens Healthineers in the United States and bioMérieux in Europe.

Eric Finton James, Senior Director of Healthcare for GXO UK & Ireland, said the agreement aligns with the NHS 10 Year Health Plan to move care from hospitals to community settings with a focus on prevention. The FIT home testing kits help identify individuals who need further cancer screening tests.

GXO operates more than 1,000 facilities totaling over 200 million square feet and employs more than 150,000 team members globally. The company is headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut.

RDi has been involved with the Bowel Cancer Screening Programme since 2008, while MAST has been developing FIT solutions for bowel cancer screening across Europe since 2005.
