DOMO updates data integration tools with AI features
Domo (NASDAQ: DOMO) announced updates to its Magic ETL platform and data integration capabilities at its annual Domopalooza conference. The company introduced a redesigned authoring experience and AI-guided tools for connecting data sources.
The updates include full support for Personal Data Permissions within Magic ETL, allowing PDP-protected datasets to be used directly as inputs in dataflows while maintaining existing security policies. Previously, teams faced constraints when working with sensitive data that required expanding access beyond necessary levels.
The redesigned Magic ETL experience features a new canvas allowing users to customize panel layouts and workspace settings, including a dark mode option. New workflow features include Disable Tiles for temporarily turning off transformation steps, Run to Here for executing dataflows up to selected steps, and Row Count Observability showing data movement through pipeline stages.
Domo previewed an AI Assistant for its JSON No Code connector, expected later this year, which will help users connect to REST APIs using natural language by interpreting documentation and generating required configurations. The company stated its top connectors are now AI-ready with automated data dictionary population.
The company also announced Domo Documents, previously called Filesets, which allows organizations to store unstructured files like PDFs or images within the platform or connect to files in systems including Amazon S3, SFTP servers, Google Drive, GitHub, and Confluence. A new Documents tile in Magic ETL enables teams to extract structured information from document collections for use in dataflows.
Enhanced observability for cloud integrations was introduced through a new Domo Stats report, providing visibility into query execution from connected cloud data warehouses including Snowflake, Databricks, Google BigQuery, and AWS.
Several announced capabilities are generally available, including Disable Tiles and Run to Here. The redesigned Magic ETL experience and row-count observability are in beta testing. Information is based on the company's press release statement.
