Perma-Fix wins $24 million demolition contract at Lawrence Livermore lab
Perma-Fix Environmental Services Inc. (NASDAQ: PESI) announced it received a two-year master task agreement valued at approximately $24 million from Lawrence Livermore National Security LLC for demolition and disposal work at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California.
The contract requires Perma-Fix to provide demolition, excavation, and waste management services for facility disposition at the laboratory. The company will handle radiological and hazardous waste, facility decontamination, and nuclear waste management as part of the project.
Perma-Fix plans to execute the work with three local subcontractors, focusing on demolition and disposal activities while minimizing disruption to ongoing laboratory operations. The project supports the laboratory's national security mission.
"Perma-Fix's long-standing relationship with LLNS, including more than a dozen successful related projects performed at LLNL, has enabled our team to develop a strong understanding of site-specific risks, processes, communication protocols, and operational priorities," said Mark Duff, president and chief executive officer of Perma-Fix.
Perma-Fix Environmental Services provides nuclear and mixed waste management services to hospitals, research facilities, federal agencies including the U.S. Department of Energy, and commercial nuclear industry clients. The company operates four nuclear waste treatment facilities and provides nuclear services at government and commercial sites nationwide.
