GERON adds two board members with biopharmaceutical experience
Geron Corporation (NASDAQ: GERN) appointed Patricia S. Andrews and Constantine Chinoporos to its board of directors, the company announced.
Andrews currently serves on the board of directors of Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Limited and its subsidiary Ichnos Glenmark Innovation since August 2025. She also serves as a board member of Oncolytics Biotech Inc. since 2024. Andrews previously served as chief executive officer of Sumitomo Pharma Oncology from 2017 to 2023 and held executive positions at Incyte Corporation from 2008 to 2012.
Chinoporos served as chief operating officer and chief business officer at Applied Therapeutics from 2023 until its acquisition by Cycle Pharmaceuticals in 2026. He previously served as chief business officer at Albireo Pharmaceuticals from 2021 until its acquisition by Ipsen S.A. in 2023. Chinoporos also held senior positions at Sanofi S.A., Genzyme Corporation, and Eli Lilly and Company.
The appointments come as the Foster City, California-based company commercializes RYTELO, its telomerase inhibitor approved in the United States and European Union for treating certain adult patients with lower-risk myelodysplastic syndromes with transfusion dependent anemia. The company is conducting a Phase 3 clinical trial of the drug in JAK-inhibitor relapsed/refractory myelofibrosis.
Elizabeth O'Farrell, chair of the board, stated that the new members bring operational expertise from commercial-stage biopharmaceutical organizations.
