Pony.ai Inc. (NASDAQ: PONY) announced plans to expand its robotaxi fleet to over 3,000 vehicles across more than 20 cities globally in 2026, with nearly half of the locations in overseas markets.

The autonomous driving technology company reported robotaxi revenue increased 160% year-over-year in the fourth quarter of 2025, while fare-charging revenue surged more than 500%. The company achieved unit economics breakeven in multiple Chinese cities, including Shenzhen and Guangzhou.

Pony.ai's total fleet expanded to 1,446 units as of March 25 from less than 300 units nearly a year ago. The company reported nearly one million total users in China by late March, nearly triple from a year ago.

Pony.ai has expanded operations to new cities including Changsha and Hangzhou in China, Zagreb in Croatia, and launched commercial fare-charging service in Doha, Qatar. The company is progressing toward fully driverless operation approval in Dubai.

The company operates through a joint deployment model with partners including Toyota, where Pony.ai provides autonomous driving solutions and partners provide vehicle funding support, with both parties sharing operating revenues. Mass production began in February for one of its seventh-generation models, with 1,000 bZ4X robotaxis expected to be produced in 2026.

Cash and cash equivalents, short-term investments, restricted cash and long-term debt instruments totaled $1,514.8 million as of December 31, 2025, compared to $587.7 million as of September 30, 2025.
