E-Power Inc. plans Vietnam expansion for anode materials
E-Power Inc. (NASDAQ: EPOW) announced plans to expand production into Vietnam through a partnership with ATSC SOLARTECH, targeting the artificial intelligence data center and energy storage markets in North America and Southeast Asia.
The company completed a site inspection of the ATSC SOLARTECH facility in Hung Yen Province, Vietnam, and reached preliminary agreement on a cooperation model with ATSC SOLARTECH's management team.
The Vietnam production facility would manufacture anode materials for lithium-ion batteries with local origin certification to meet U.S. export requirements. E-Power stated the operation would achieve a 30% local value-added threshold to comply with international trade standards and potentially access U.S. subsidies.
E-Power cited cost advantages from the Hung Yen industrial zone, including stable power supply and competitive labor costs, with local manufacturing efficiency projected at 70% of Chinese standards. The company noted that existing customers including Envision, Sunwoda, and Gotion have manufacturing presence in Vietnam.
The facility would integrate E-Power's anode technology with ATSC SOLARTECH's infrastructure, which includes high-temperature CVD deposition and graphitization capabilities. E-Power plans to pilot minimum viable capacity for anode materials with potential expansion into Silicon-Carbon anodes.
"Our move into Vietnam is a natural extension of our industrial chain," said Haiping Hu, Chairman of E-Power Inc. "By combining our 100+ patent portfolio in anode materials with localized production and our specialized 5-person microgrid task force, we are building a resilient ecosystem that directly addresses the power revolution required by AI data centers."
E-Power aims to finalize the minimum capacity plan by the end of March 2026, followed by formal registration of the Vietnam subsidiary and commencement of customer certification processes.
