PTC Therapeutics adds former Morgan Stanley biotech chair to board
PTC Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: PTCT) appointed Jessica Chutter to its board of directors, the Warren, New Jersey-based biopharmaceutical company announced.
Chutter recently retired as managing director and chair of biotechnology investment banking at Morgan Stanley after a 40-year career. During her tenure at the investment bank, she was involved in approximately $80 billion of capital raising and $85 billion of strategic transactions, according to the company statement.
"Jessica will play an integral role as the Board continues to work with the management team on charting the company's next stage of growth," said Michael Schmertzler, chairman of PTC's board of directors.
Chutter helped build Morgan Stanley's biotechnology banking practice and previously served as a trusted advisor to PTC during her time at the investment bank. She holds a bachelor's degree in commerce and economics from McGill University and an MBA from Harvard University.
"Jessica was a trusted advisor to PTC during her time at Morgan Stanley and her broad vision, extensive biotech experience and track record of successful company building will make her a valued Board member," said Matthew B. Klein, chief executive officer of PTC Therapeutics.
PTC Therapeutics focuses on discovering, developing and commercializing treatments for rare disorders in children and adults. The company operates globally and maintains a pipeline of medicines for patients with unmet medical needs.
