FiscalNote launches PolicyNote MCP in OpenAI App Store

March 25, 2026 7:02 AM

FiscalNote Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: NOTE) announced that its PolicyNote MCP application has been approved and listed in the OpenAI App Store. The application enables developers and policy analysts to access structured policy and regulatory data directly within ChatGPT workflows.

The PolicyNote MCP allows users to query legislative and regulatory intelligence from Congress, all 50 states, and more than 100 countries through natural language within ChatGPT. Users can install the application with one click and receive structured information about policy developments and regulatory changes.

OpenAI reported that ChatGPT had more than 700 million weekly active users as of January. FiscalNote users can now connect to the MCP server natively in ChatGPT and leverage the tool in custom GPTs to create chatbots for specific policy tasks.

FiscalNote maintains commercial control over the PolicyNote MCP, setting pricing and access terms. Users transact directly with FiscalNote to access the data, which remains proprietary and is not made available for model training or other platform purposes.

"As AI agents become an increasingly important interface for how organizations operate and make decisions, the opportunity is expanding for trusted intelligence to be embedded directly into those workflows," said Josh Resnik, CEO and President of FiscalNote.

The PolicyNote MCP provides programmatic access to FiscalNote's legislative and regulatory intelligence database. Setup requires under 15 minutes and the application is designed for both enterprise teams and individual developers. PolicyNote maintains SOC 2 Type 2 compliance.

The application represents FiscalNote's expansion from a standalone software platform to embedded intelligence infrastructure within AI-driven workflows. The company expects this model to enable scalable adoption across new geographies and customer segments without traditional seat constraints.
