Middleby names Brittany Cerwin as chief financial officer

March 25, 2026 7:00 AM

The Middleby Corporation (NASDAQ: MIDD) appointed Brittany Cerwin as chief financial officer, effective immediately, according to a company statement.

Cerwin succeeds Bryan Mittelman, who served as CFO since 2019 and will transition to special advisor to the chief executive officer. Mittelman will focus on completing the company's previously announced spin-off of its Food Processing business, expected by the end of the second quarter of 2026.

Cerwin joined Middleby in 2011 and most recently served as chief accounting officer, a position she assumed in 2023. She has overseen financial reporting functions across all Middleby business units and played a role in acquisition integrations and growth initiatives. Prior to joining Middleby, she worked at Grant Thornton LLP in Chicago.

"Brittany has been an integral part of the Middleby corporate finance team since joining us fifteen years ago," said Tim FitzGerald, Middleby chief executive officer. The company reported that revenues increased threefold and earnings grew five times during her tenure.

Cerwin holds bachelor's and master's degrees in accounting from Bradley University. Before becoming chief accounting officer, she served as corporate controller at the Elgin, Illinois-based company.

The appointment comes as Middleby continues its transformation into a commercial foodservice equipment company through the planned separation of its Food Processing business.
