ISG receives third AI contract technology patent
Information Services Group (NASDAQ: III) announced it received U.S. patent #12,572,606 for a computational engine that balances competing interests and negotiates contract terms. The patent was issued March 10, 2026.
The technology represents ISG's third patent in AI-powered contracting systems. The engine uses neural networks and multi-factor optimization algorithms to identify document sections, apply weighted satisfaction functions, and adjust values to maximize stakeholder priorities.
"This technology has the potential to replace the traditional, manual process of exchanging 'redlined' document edits with an automated, optimization-based approach to agreement," said Rekha Acharya, partner at ISG Governance Services.
The system converts qualitative preferences into numerical values, enabling autonomous negotiations between AI systems. It supports conversational chatbot negotiation, voice interaction, and real-time contract refinement while becoming more effective through user feedback and performance data.
ISG's previous contracting patents cover document generation using historical contracts and tailored contract language recommendations. The three patents support the intelligent contracting capability of ISG GovernX, the company's contract lifecycle management platform.
The patent establishes intellectual property protection for adaptive negotiation technologies that ISG states will drive intelligent negotiation systems. The system enables AI agents to negotiate contracts autonomously for human review.
ISG describes itself as a global AI-centered technology research and advisory firm serving more than 900 clients, including 75 of the world's top 100 enterprises. The company was founded in 2006 and employs 1,500 professionals worldwide.
