Twilio adds direct 10DLC connections across all major US and Canada carriers

March 24, 2026 9:03 AM

Twilio Inc. (NYSE: TWLO) announced it has established direct 10-Digit Long Code connections with AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon in the United States, and Bell & Virgin, Rogers, and Telus in Canada. The company states it is now the only Communications Platform as a Service provider with direct connections across all major carriers in both countries.

The San Francisco-based customer engagement platform already maintained direct toll-free messaging connectivity across all major U.S. carriers. Twilio also recently launched RCS general availability in Canada, adding to existing RCS services in the United States.

The direct carrier connections enable customers to register 10DLC numbers in days rather than weeks compared to using third-party aggregators, according to the company. Twilio reports the connections provide improved reliability, increased throughput speeds, and enhanced compliance capabilities.

"Twilio already carries significant messaging volume in North America," said Kathryn Murphy, Senior Vice President of Product, Communications Platform, at Twilio. "The expansion of direct 10DLC connections in the United States and Canada across all major carriers further solidifies our mission to provide trusted, direct connections for our customers."

The company's Traffic Optimization Engine manages traffic across networks to maintain low latency and high deliverability rates. Twilio reported handling over 2.5 trillion interactions in 2025 with 99.999% API availability.

Research from 451 Research indicates 74.1% of respondents will ignore calls or texts from unknown or blocked numbers. Raul Castanon, Senior Research Analyst at the firm, noted that foundational protocols like 10DLC have become essential for enterprise communications, with direct connections offering advantages in speed, reliability and compliance.
