NetApp and Commvault form alliance for cyber resilience solutions
NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) and Commvault (NASDAQ: CVLT) announced a strategic alliance to deliver an integrated solution for enterprise data protection and cyber resilience across on-premises and cloud environments.
The unified solution combines Commvault's data protection and recovery capabilities with NetApp's data platform and AI-driven ransomware detection technology. The alliance creates what the companies describe as a closed-loop recovery architecture that integrates early ransomware detection with automated recovery workflows.
The solution incorporates NetApp's Autonomous Ransomware Protection (ARP) on primary storage with Commvault's backup and recovery technology. According to the press release, this integration aims to minimize data loss and accelerate recovery processes when organizations face cyber threats.
"Organizations often detect cyberattacks like ransomware too late, after they have spread across primary systems and backups, leading to a larger blast radius, extended downtime, and missed recovery time objectives," said Gagan Gulati, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Data Services at NetApp.
Future development plans include leveraging NetApp ONTAP restore technology to reduce data loss and improve recovery speed, according to the announcement.
"The first step in building cyber resilience in your organization is the ability to recover with trust and speed," said Pranay Ahlawat, Chief Technology and AI Officer at Commvault.
The companies will demonstrate their collaboration at the RSA Conference in San Francisco from March 23-26, with NetApp exhibiting at booth S-2439.
